SeQura is the payments-technology platform behind checkout for 6,000+ merchants and 3 million shoppers across Spain, France, Italy, and Portugal, with the UK, Germany, and the US next on the map.

Born in Barcelona in 2013, the company closed €410 million in funding led by Citi in late 2024 and used the runway to push past Buy Now, Pay Later into something bigger: a smart shopping app where flexible payments, rewards, and brand discovery live in one place.

That shift prompted a serious look at loyalty. SeQura's own research found a clear pattern: most members never check their balance, plenty never redeem, and traditional points programs no longer carry meaningful value for either shoppers or brands.

The company set out to rebuild rewards around something shoppers would actually want to keep - cashback that holds its worth and stays in the shopper's hands.

The program launched in January 2025.

Members earn rewards on every purchase and choose how they want to receive them: as Qoins, SeQura's 1-for-1 euro cashback redeemable as an instant discount, or as Bitcoin cashback delivered straight to the shopper's own wallet.

More rewards mechanics are rolling out through 2026.

Feature
What it does

Cashback that holds its value

Qoins give shoppers 1-for-1 euro cashback, redeemable as an instant discount - rewards that keep their worth instead of expiring or losing meaning.

Shopper's choice of reward

Members decide how they get paid back: euro cashback in-app, or Bitcoin sent straight to their own wallet.

Gamified rewards

Every transaction across the SeQura app earns, turning everyday shopping into ongoing value.

Built to expand

A flexible foundation lets SeQura keep adding new mechanics through 2026 without rebuilding the program each time.

Built with Open Loyalty, SeQura's program gives the company the backbone to keep adding new mechanics without rebuilding the wheel each time, and gives shoppers across Southern Europe a loyalty experience that finally lives up to the word.

Working with Open Loyalty's loyalty success team, SeQura got more than a platform - it got the know-how, drawn from 100+ programs, to design and launch a rewards model built around what shoppers actually value.
